Unitrex® Lf20 PTFE Filled PEEK Offers Superior Performance

Unitrex® Lf20 PTFE Filled PEEK offers the performance of standard unfilled PEEK, with the addition of PTFE, resulting in a very lower coefficient of friction. For wear applications requiring both high heat resistance and resistance to many acidic and alkaline solutions, this material is an excellent choice.

With its unique combination of wear resistance, FDA compliance, UL94 V-0 flame rating and extremely low toxicity and smoke release, Unitrex Lf20 is suitable for use in a myriad of applications including aerospace, aircraft, oil & gas extraction and processing, semiconductor fabrication and many more.

Additionally, this material is increasingly being used to replace component parts made of metals due to its light weight, fabrication ease, insulating properties and design freedom, which allows for part consolidation in many applications.

Professional Plastics Opens New Site in Smyrna, Georgia

Professional Plastics, a California-based supplier of plastic sheets, rods, tubing and films has opened their 16th USA warehouse-distribution center in the Atlanta suburb of Smyrna.  The new 15,000 square foot facility will be the main fulfillment point serving customers throughout the Southeastern U.S.  The new branch will handle both product distribution and sales support for Professional Plastics' customers in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi. 


Stock materials include; Delrin, Acetal, Nylon, Teflon PTFE, PVC, UHMW, PVDF, Ultem, Acrylic, Plexiglass, ABS, HDPE, Polycarbonate, Vespel, Meldin, Torlon & other industrial products.

Tivar® H.O.T High Temperature UHMW-PE Shapes

Tivar® H.O.T. from Quadrant EPP is formulated to maintain key performance properties in an extended temperature range, Tivar® H.O.T.* will excel in a variety of industrial manufacturing environments where temperatures range up to 275° F, nearly 100° higher than competing UHMW-PE formulations.

Tivar® H.O.T. reduces the oxidization rate of the material at higher temperatures thereby slowing material degradation and extending wear-life in chemical, elevated temperature and thermo-cycling environments. In many applications, Tivar® H.O.T. will last up to 10 times longer in higher temperature environments and has excellent wear and release characteristics


Tivar® H.O.T. is also a great material for use in conveyor systems or other equipment that is frequently exposed to chemical washdowns in such industries as poultry/meat processing and packaging. It can be also be used in applications ranging from wearstrips for spiral conveyors in the baking industry to drag conveyor flights for moving bulk materials (corn) in grain elevators, or wearstrips for conveyor dryers in drying and dehydrating systems.


Tivar® H.O.T. is white and available in the following standard sizes: 48" x 120" (1220mm x 3050mm) sheets with gauges ranging from 1/16" (1.5mm) to 6.0" (152mm) and 48" x 240" sheets with gauges ranging from 3/4" to 3". Other sizes are available on request. It can also be extruded in a variety of standard and custom profiles.

Nylatron® GS Nylon Sheets and Rods Available Online

Professional Plastics offers Nylatron® GS Nylon Sheets and Rods from their e-commerce website in a full range of sizes.  Nylatron® GS is a molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) filled nylon offering improved strength and rigidity when compared to unfilled Nylon. Nylatron GS provides a lower coefficient of linear thermal expansion than Nylon 101 . Nylatron materials can be extruded or cast into basic shapes for machining.  Nylatron GS is the Extruded Grade which is best for smaller parts, while Nylatron GSM is the Cast Grade which is more suitable for large parts. Both grades are available from Professional Plastics website.

Nylatron GS parts maintain better fit and clearances than unfilled Nylon and have less tendency to seize as bearings.   This material is economical and easy to machine into complex parts.

Nylatron GS Rods are available in standard 8 foot lengths.
Nylatron GS Sheets are available in standard 24" x 48" sheets or can cut-to-size to customer specifications upon request.
